I thought it was funny how the writers seemed to keep emphasizing it was the 13-year-old princess's lunar cycle, and after a while I started to wonder if at least part of their intent was to imply that she was being a bitch because she was having her period.
I agree that it was only a so-so episode, although I must admit that the painting at the end made me laugh out loud.
I really wish the writers/set designers/whoever would come up with new cultures for the various planets. I'm sick to death of Earth-style medieval villages. It's a different effing galaxy, guys! /rant
